Welcome to Spring, members! The warmer weather has finally arrived (kind of) and we have more than just sunshine to look forward to this month! In this issue, we welcome our new Archeion Coordinator, Jazmine Aldrich, with a brief Q&A and we provide some details about our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 27, 2022. Do not forget to check out the newest edition of Off the Record, and make sure you’re signed up for the Annual Conference! AAO News
a. Welcome Jazmine Aldrich, the AAO’s New Archeion Coordinator!
Many members will have already seen the announcement of Jazmine Aldrich as the AAO’s new Archeion Coordinator on our website and through the listserv, but we got the chance to ask Jazmine a few questions for this month’s newsletter. Learn more about Jazmine and some of her plans for the position here.
b. Reminder - the Spring 2022 of Off the Record is now available
This edition includes a profile on AAO member Sylvia Lassam; an article by Donna Bernardo-Ceriz on a recent exhibition about Jewish people of colour at the Ontario Jewish Archives; and a joint piece by Moska Rokay and Sean Smith discussing a joint virtual film night hosted by the Muslims in Canada Archive (MiCA) and the Archives of Ontario for MiCA’s Community Collaboration Learning series.

c. AAO AGM is set for May 27, 9:30-11AM via Zoom
As always, everyone is welcome to attend the AAO AGM, but only individual AAO members will be able to vote on motions put forward. You can register for the meeting here. We have one constitutional amendment for discussion as well as voting for the 2022-2023 AAO Board of Directors. The Board sincerely wishes to welcome as many members as possible to this virtual event.
Details on how to join the meeting will be sent to registered attendees in advance of. Please register by May 20th if you wish to attend the meeting.
The agenda for the meeting and proposed constitutional amendment can be found here. The AGM Information Package, which includes the minutes from the 2021 AGM and reports from the Board, Staff, Committees, Chapters, and Special Interest Groups will be distributed to all members in early May. The 2022 Information Package will also be made available on the AAO website.
This year, there are two positions available on the AAO Board of Directors: Vice-President/President Elect and Director Without Portfolio. Read more about the current slate of nominated candidates for these positions here. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the AGM.

AAO Conference 2022 Update
AAO Conference 2022 Registration Reminder - May 25-27!
Registration for the 2022 virtual conference of the AAO is now open! The theme of the conference is "These Are Unprecedented Times.” The conference will be held from May 25-27, 2022 using the Whova conference platform.
Reduced rates are available to members of the AAO. See the conference agenda for details on the conference program.Included in Registration:
- Keynotes by Dr. Renée Lafferty-Salhany and Andrew Chernevych;
- Access to presentations by over 20 speakers;
- Meet & Greets with the AAO’s many Committees and Chapters;
- Social activities organized by the Local Arrangements Committee;

This year’s pre-conference workshop, “Introduction to Archival Digitization,” will be led by McMaster’s Manager of Digitization Services, Krista Jamieson! Registration for the workshop is separate and available here.
